No more defender warnings :-)

Recognise this when installing Quelea on Windows?

It’s a false warning - but since the Quelea installer isn’t signed by a certificate (they’re relatively expensive), this is what almost everyone has been greeted with, which is a shame.

I’m pleased to announce however that SignPath.io have agreed to sponsor Quelea by providing code signing for its release executables - which means that from the 2026.0 release version, the warning should go away! This has been tested with the current CI version up at the time of writing and works great - though note future CI versions won’t be signed as it needs a manual approval process.

(Side note: this only applies to the main Quelea software - any releases built from forks or custom modifications aren’t able to be signed via this route.)

Awesome! I have raised an eyebrow at this warning before, so it’ll definitely help a little with the trust in the application, especially for new users who might also be wary and don’t know the track record of Quelea. And of course an important safety measure in this time and age when more emphasis is being put on the security of the software supply chain.
