We are using Quelea 2018. I assume there are natural benefits of updating to the 2024 release. As a compelte novice at Quelea, can anyone send me any information about how to update? When to update? (I assume I can backup the settings first and reinitiate those later?)

You should be able to just download and install the new release with no changes - I must admit though it’s been a while so I’m not sure exactly what the full changes are since 2018!
If you want to be sure you don’t lose anything, then backup your “.quelea” folder in your home directory first. If you’re on windows, it’ll be somewhere like “C:\users\USERNAME\.quelea”. (This way if anything does go wrong, you can just reinstall 2018.0, copy that directory back in place and you won’t have lost anything.
