If I load mp4 videos into my Quelea schedule is there a risk that either a single mp4 video is too long duration or that multiple mp4 videos add up to the same limit? I wasn’t sure if Quelea is simply instructing VCL to ‘play’ from an mp4 file accessible via File Explorer and once that video file comes to an end the control passes back to Quelea? Or is the mp4 content loaded into my Quelea schedule? If there is no limit then we should not be concerned being given a video file to ‘play’ just in case it does not get to the end without us checking in advance.
There’s no limit.
With 2024 and newer things happen in-process via GStreamer, so it’s possible there’s some issues there - some people are reporting high memory usage, which is still something I need to look at. With the older versions though it’s just VLC playing the file, so if it can play in VLC fine it’ll play in Quelea fine, as a general rule.
