Videos with relatively common unicode characters refuse to even play

These characters I’ve encountered include:

  • Right Single Quotation Mark (U+2019)
  • En-Dash (U+2013)
  • Bullet-point (U+2022)

Any video file containing any of these characters will result in a red “X” thumbnail in the Video library tab.

(one could argue the En-Dash not working is a feature :stuck_out_tongue: but it should be fixed regardless)
