Deleting songs in database in one operation

Hi,

Is it possible to delete a group of songs or all songs in one go? In the songs list I have to select the songs individually to delete each one.

Afraid not at the moment - you can delete the “database_new” folder in C:\users\USERNAME.quelea if you want to remove the lot though.

Ok Thanks. I will just have to do that for the time being. Just was not sure if I could just delete the database_new folder without breaking the program

I would like to do this also…… I have several items in my song list (Sermon scriptures) that is listed several times.

It’s just a database file. A viewer/editor would do. VS code / Intelij have some useful plugins/extensions. Also you could alter it with some tool with WSL if you are on windows.

Also, maybe preferably, you can dump export everything (it’s a zip essentially). Clean up the files as you wish. Edit the zip or individual file contents or delete files. Then reimport.

Until release 2022.0 this was not possible. Starting with 2024.0 it is: Allow multiple selection in song database.

Please also note the recent post:

It says:
“If you want to be sure you don’t lose anything, then backup your “.quelea” folder in your home directory first. If you’re on windows, it’ll be somewhere like “C:\users\USERNAME.quelea”. (This way if anything does go wrong, you can just reinstall 2018.0, copy that directory back in place and you won’t have lost anything.”
