Quelea 2024 keeps getting flagged for malware on my Laptop. When I exempt it and run it it eats system resources

I have managed to install Quelea 2024 but when I run it gaming laptop fans kick in and eventually my laptop starts to freeze then I have to restart the laptop. I currently use an Asus Rog Strix with 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 3050TI and Windows 11. I have used Quelea 2021 with no problem but when I updated it to 2024 I am now having issues. Also, my Anti Virus flags the install as malware/Virus at one stage while it was running it was using more than 5GB of RAM. What could be the problem?

Do you have a large video background library, maybe many 4k clips or 1 really big one?

FYI, 5GB of Ram is nothing, try 22GB :crazy_face:which I achieved in testing.

Is your laptop freezing when it approaches 95%-97% ram utilization ?
It wouldn’t be strange, since it’s trying to use the swap on your storage (ssd / hdd).

So here are the (potential) solution! There are 3 options:

  • downgrade
  • rename the ./quelea/vid to something else like ./quelea/vid(diabled) or just ./quelea/vid(i am so sad). After doing that you should be using somewhere between 700Mb to 1100Mb but not more really.
  • uninstall quelea and else , like OpenLP (sometimes, that’s the reality)

Let’s hope for the best!
