I’ve never been able to import keynote files into my schedule. I can only export them as images and import an image group. Recently I was able to import a pptx made by a windows user so I experimented with converting a keynote into pptx but that didn’t work either.
How can I get this app made for Mac to import native Mac keynote files?
Afraid you can’t - Quelea doesn’t support keynote files natively. We’d need an open source keynote library to do so (the equivalent of the Apache POI library which we use for PPTX files) but I don’t think such a library exists.
I prefer to convert the keynote (or powerpoint or Google Slide) file into a PDF - that way you don’t have to worry about fonts, etc. Yes, you can’t keep your transitions, but it works like a charm and instead of importing a bunch of files, you just import one pdf.
That’s a good idea I’ll try that some time. I also have had success starting a file inside PowerPoint and importing that, though I prefer keynote lol
Thanks for the idea
